Dialogic Card Question

Recommended Posts

I noticed on Intel website that some of the dialogic boards recommended by VG, are compatible with older versions of Windows. Does that mean that certain dialogic cards might not be compatible with Windows XP? Is that something to watch for before ordering a board? Thanks for the help.

We have not come across any Dialogic board that would not work with WindowsXP.

There would probably be a small number of systems running older ISA cards with WinXP - but pretty much all the cards sold these days are PCI based anyway.

Thanks for your quick response. Now I hope you can brief me on what would be the main difference between all these dialogic cards (other than Analog or T1) ... or what would be the thing to weigh more when deciding on a board other than the price of the board. Thanks in advance.

Clicking on the links from our Recommended Hardware page will lead top full description of each board on the Intel website.

The basic distinction form user's point of view is whether the board can bridge calls together or not. If you need to do this or use "Dial and Conference" transfers in your application then see the list here: http://www.voiceguide.com/vghelp/html/modXfer.htm

Otherwise any one of the Dialogic cards is fine.

One last question....I was wondering if any of the dialogic cards will detect incoming faxes and accept them without running the VG scripts? Is receiving a fax a board issue, or software?

Some boards support fax and some do not.

VoiceGuide can detect if an incoming fax is a fax call and it can then transfer these calls out - to your fax machine.
