Hi,

 

We are experiencing a 100% CPU Usage when voice guide receive a call.

 

Usually the PC is runing at 3%

 

Intel P3 800 2 GIG of RAM. ( Dell Precision 620 )

 

Win 2000.

We have test systems here which run slower CPUs then that and we do not see any 100% usage spikes on them..

 

Can you send a screenshot of CPU usage trace from the Task Manager when there is an incoming call?

 

Can you post the script which you are using?

 

How many users are registered in your voicemail system?

 

Are you using a Dialogic card or Voice Modems?

First thing I'd try is to delete turn off logging to hard disk (bottom left corner of Trace Log window) and then close the Trace Log window altogether.

 

Please post the CPU Usage trace capturing the call after you've done that.

 

Are you using some disk compression or some other tool which would affect disk access efficiency?

 

The vgm trace does not show any delays between successive stages of internal software execution so it does not look like this 100% CPU usage is not affecting the software - it's a bit strange that it does not...

 

Another thing you may want to consider is trying out VG for Dialogic - it is more efficient and needs less CPU per line then the TAPI version (v5.x) - but you still should not see 100% when using the TAPI version...

If you do not want to update to VG for Dialogic then at least update to the latest version of V5 (currently v5.2.3063) available from our WWW. Your current license will work with this newest version.

 

I assume that the update CPU Usage graph's update speed was on 'Normal', so each vertical line is spaced abut 12 seconds apart or so?
