Documentation On Scripts

Is there documentation on the script file format, commands, and rules for usage? I am looking for the required information to create script files from a text editor and/or programatic generation. I would like the script launguage syntax and semantics. There are entries in the script files that I could not find any explanation for in the online help.

The .VGS file format is in plain ASCII text and is fairly self-explanatory.
