Harry L. Roberts Report post Posted 01/05/2006 02:32 AM How does VG control Text To Speech (TTS)? How do I select the TTS engine I want to use? How do I select the voice I want to use? Can I use different voices within a script? Can I use different voices within a module? For prompts that do not change would it not be better to perform the TTS once and save it as a WAV file? Then use that WAV file in the "Sound File To Play" box. Wouldn't you speed VG up by not having to convert "Fixed Text" on the fly to a WAV file? Share this post Link to post
SupportTeam Report post Posted 01/05/2006 04:01 AM VoiceGuide will use the default TTS engine. Some TTS engines allow you to change voices midway through. eg: AT&T Natural Voices. See the AT&T help file for info on how to do this. For prompts that do not change would it not be better to perform the TTS once and save it as a WAV file? Yes, that's a much better approach. If you are using mostly static TTS text then it would be better to design the script using that approach. Share this post Link to post
