Text To Speech Question

VG 5.2.5012 Enterprise

Zoom V.92 PCI voice modem

Windows 2000 Server

 

Installed AT&T Mike and Crystal. Selected Mike in Control Panel - Speech and it appeared to be working correctly as it read the sample text.

 

Created a simple script that is just supposed to read the text that I have entered in the "Play Sound File module". When I call our system, the computer reads the text and plays it out of the computer speakers. After it is done, I hear "There has been an error playing this file. Please check the file format" over my phone.

 

What am I doing wrong?

It sounds like something went wrong during the TTS installation.

I'd try re-installing the TTS.

 

The TTS should not be playing the text over the speakers.

It was indeed a bad install. I think the problem was that I installed the Mike voice before the Crystal voice. The Crystal install also had the engine with it. As I downloaded the Mike voice first, I was not aware of this.

 

After uninstalling both and then reinstalling Crystal first, everything worked much better.
