Receiving Faxes On The Same Line

I have read in other posts that VG cannot receive faxes, but can detect faxes and transfer them to an extension that is hooked to a fax machine. Does that require having a PBX? I have 3 phone lines and a 4 port dialogic card, and no PBX, where would I need to hook my fax machine to? Thanks.

You need to be able to somehow transfer the call to the PBX.

 

You may want to see if your phone company supports call transfer features on your lines.

I don't have a PBX, and my phone company does support call transfer. So I need to transfer the fax to another regular phone line via call transfer?

 

The whole purpose of detecting fax, is not to have to pay for an extra fax line.

VG does not itself receive faxes.
