Guest ooper Report post Posted 01/28/2006 08:51 PM Just wondering if you have to have a PBX to use Dialogic D/4PCIU cards? I have a small home-based business. I called Qwest to run a new phone line for the business and have a new phone jack that I plugged into the D/4PCIU. Should this work? There was a note in the quick install guide that said, "A standard telephone will not function when directly connected to the board". Not sure what this meant exactly. Share this post Link to post
SupportTeam Report post Posted 01/29/2006 08:07 PM The Dialogic card will answer a ringing line. I called Qwest to run a new phone line for the business and have a new phone jack that I plugged into the D/4PCIU. Should this work? Yes. There was a note in the quick install guide that said, "A standard telephone will not function when directly connected to the board". Not sure what this meant exactly. Correct. The statement above says "A standard telephone" not "A standard telephone line". If you just connect a telephone handset to a Dialogic card that telephone handset will not do anything...
