Delay Before Script Starts After Answering

When our system dials out, there is a delay before the script starts. Is there a way to reduce this delay?

 

After I answer the phone and say "hello", it takes 2-3 seconds before VG shows that a "live person answered" and then it will start playing a sound file.

It depends on quality of line and background noise - but detection of whether the answering machine or a live person answered the call should take less then 2-3 seconds.

 

Usually it would take under a second from the time the person answering the call stops speaking.

There are no settings that can be changed to affect the Answering Machine vs Human discrimination. As mentioned before the speed and reliability does seem to be affected by line quality and background noise...
