Zoltan Report post Posted 02/08/2006 05:58 AM After research, I found only one vendor who sells Dialogic cards where I live. They ask US$630, which reflects their monopolistic market position. I spent a couple of hours reading Intel's website and realize that I probably cannot buy Dialogic card online from them. I sent an e-mail to them and got an automatically generated useless e-mail. Am I correct that I cannot buy Dialogic card directly from Intel? Share this post Link to post
SupportTeam Report post Posted 02/08/2006 06:03 AM You can only buy from distributors. Intel does not sell direct. Where are you located? I assume you are after a D/4PCIU? The only places cheaper then US$630 will be the US based online sellers. Some are listed here: http://www.voiceguide.com/suppRecomHardware.htm Share this post Link to post
Zoltan Report post Posted 02/08/2006 06:59 AM I live in Hong Kong. Do you think US$630 is realistic for D/4PCI and I cannot expect to buy it significantly cheaper elsewhere outside the US? What is the life expectancy of a Dialogic card? What percentage of this product have (physical) problems in the first 5 years - according to your expreience? If later the card needs to be repaired, do I have to send it to Intel or the vendor? Share this post Link to post
SupportTeam Report post Posted 02/08/2006 08:11 AM US$630 is very reasonable price for a brand new D/4PCIU outside of US. What is the life expectancy of a Dialogic card? Warranty is for 3 years, but barring a lighting strike or other power surge over the phone lines they last pretty much like any other piece of computer equipment. Very few cards have problems in fist 5 years. Dialoigc has a pretty good reputation for quality. If later the card needs to be repaired, do I have to send it to Intel or the vendor? Vendor.
