Zoltan Report post Posted 02/13/2006 05:18 PM I have Windows XP Home Edition with SP2 and thinking of buying Dialogic D/4PCIU. However, I worry that buying this Dialogic card will not be sufficient to make VG run properly. Your VG help file says: “D/4PCIU & D/4PCIUF cards require either the SR5.1.1 Feature Pack 1 drivers, or the SR5.1.1 + SR5.1.1 SP1 + D4PCIU support patch. (Full version of SR5.1.1FP1 will be supplied to customers who purchase these cards from Katalina). … The freely available SR5.1.1 + SR5.1.1 SP1 drivers are usually sufficient for all other cards (even on WinXP systems).” The local Intel agent says that I either need Windows 2000 and SR5.1.1 SP1 or For XP and 2003 I need SR5.1.1 FP1. I do not want to buy neither Windows 2000 nor the FP 1 for $497. I downloaded SR511SP1 zip file (104.97 MB) from http://membersresource.intel.com/_releases...winnt/SR511SP1/ Is this the file for XP? It seems to be for NT or Windows 2000. Does SR5.1.1 will come with the Dialog card on a CD? Is D4PCIU support patch downloadable free somewhere from Intel website? What does “usually sufficient … even on XP” mean? So what do I need to do to build a working system with VG – given the above situation? Share this post Link to post
SupportTeam Report post Posted 02/13/2006 09:24 PM We have reports from many customer that they are running D/4PCIU with "SR5.1.1 + SR5.1.1 SP1 + D4PCIU support patch" in WinXP with no problems, and we have had this combination running here with no problems. The "SR5.1.1 + SR5.1.1 SP1 + D4PCIU support patch" is not officially certified for WinXP but it seems to run OK on it. Share this post Link to post
