Mute / Unmute

Recommended Posts

Hi Again.

Is there a way to mute a line in a dial and conference? We need to roll out a jokeline service (where someone else can listen in on the call and we play sound samples down the line ) - but i cant find a way to mute the person listening in on the joke. any ideas?

Why do you need to mute? Just play the sound file with the joke to the person who dialed in.

You may need to describe in more detail what you need to achieve...

Hi,

I want some-one else listening in on the jokeline, without giving their presence away. Ie, you set your mate up to dial the jokeline, and you can listen in on another phone ( which is muted, ie, that person cant inject noise onto the line )

Regards

Wouldn't you just play a sound file to the person who dialed in?

Who (or what) is the person who dialed in meant to be listening to?

To be quite frank, you have wasted days of my time.

I have asked a simple question - is there a way to mute a line? I dont want my question answered with another question, adding 24hours onto my deadline - i want a simple yes or no.

Either there is a way to mute a line so its listen only, or there isnt.

After asking around here as to what you may mean by 'joke line' we assume that what you actually want to do is to have a Dial and Conference call established using VG and have VG just provide a one-way audio path across this connection, with the joke line not being ran by VG at all...

It is possible to do that if you're using T1 or E1 ISDN lines.

The feature however this is not part of the standard VoiceGuide feature set.

You would need to contact sales@VoiceGuide.com to have this added in for you...

(Also, looking at the post timestamps I see that the questions have been answered promptly from our side...)
