I really like the look of the voiceguide system and its database integration!

Seems like you have really thought about it!

 

Will it work with "pro" cards like the Aculab ?

Many of the links you give to the Intel Dialogic stuff are dead, or they simply don't sell them any more.

I am in the UK and they also seem hard to find over here.

 

Are the Eicon's that inferior for instance ? as DABs seem to do some of their range.

 

Most importantly, I am confused at how future VoIP options will affect Voiceguide.

 

Currently the norm, seems to be ISDN lines, but VoIP seems to be just around the corner.

 

What I want is a system I can develop on with a simple board (like a 2 line analog) and then just change the driver for production to an ISDN 30 or VoIP system in its new telecentre home.

 

Is that really possible with VoiceGuide ?

 

Also your pricing for mulitple chanels, seems quite high and seems to end at 60. If one wanted a large scale system (like serveral 120 line systems on one server), can VoiceGuide not cope?

 

I'd have thought it was more down to the hardware, than the voiceguide

And as most of these cards are DPS based (aka non cpu intensive) what would the problem be?

Intel/Dialogic have a broad product range, are continually coming out with new versions of cards and have an overwhelming market share, and can be sourced from many more suppliers then any other manufacturer, and priecewise there isn’t that much difference - which is why we concentrate on working with Dialogic.

Some of the boards listed on our "Recommended Hardware" page are no longer produced but we list them as they were very popular a few years ago and many of them are still being used.

That's fine. Most systems are developed like that. (btw. I don’t think that Aculab makes a 2 or 4 port analog card)

Actually, we're pretty sure that the price is quite low. As you can imagine we keep track of other products pricings, and amongst similar systems which can actually do 120+ lines VoiceGuide is by far the cheapest. Pricing for 60+ lines is at the same rate as 60 line licenses. (Some load test results of VG running 120 lines are here: http://voiceguide.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=3710)

 

VoiceGuide's limit per server is 300 lines - but unless the application is mainly a conferencing app or similar where the app is not really going to be doing anything then you will be hard pushed to run 300 lines on one machine... think about what would happen if you had 100+ simultaneous database accesses generated at the same time...

BTW can we use soemthing other the Microsoft text 2 speech ?

 

The AT & T natural voices fo rexample?

 

Does any one have any experience in integrating this with VoiceGuide ?
