Guest fsoudbakhsh Report post Posted 02/28/2006 06:28 PM I have not works with E1 or T1 lines yet. I would really appreciated if you can advice me if the attached diagram will works if I want to use VG to make dial and conference between E1 and Analog line. Thanks as usual for your help. SupportTeam Report post Posted 02/28/2006 09:27 PM Yes, it is possible to make a 'dial and conference' call between a T1/E1 channel and an analog line. Many VoiceGuide systems out there do it and most of our t1/E1 test systems in the lab here have analog card in them as well which we use for such call tromboning. To the end user it is not any different then 'dial and conference' between two analog lines, or between two T1/E1 channels. The analog card will need to be connected to the T1/E1 card with a CT-Bus or an SC-Bus connector (depending on cards used). D/4PCI series do not have these connectors. You will need to use a D/41JCT or D/120JCT card for the analog lines. All digital cards have a CT-Bus or an SC-Bus connector. SC-Bus is an old format, and all the new cards have a CT-Bus - but there is a CT-Bus to SC-Bus converted (costs about $20) so it does not really matter what cards you use as long as they have one of the connectors on it so that you can connect the cards together. Guest fsoudbakhsh Report post Posted 03/03/2006 06:52 PM Thanks a lot for explanation. If I a not asking too much, Is it possible for you to draw the wiring diagram of how a analog dialogic card interface with E1/T1 lines and Digital (E1/T1) line interface with analog lines via CT-Bus? Such a wiring diagram configaration can not be find on Internet. I am sure a lot of your customers would benefit of your wiring diagram in Forum. Thanks again. Share this post Link to post
SupportTeam Report post Posted 03/03/2006 10:33 PM It's a just a cable connecting the two cards, looks a bit like a Floppy disk connector cable. You just use this cable to connect the two or more cards together... See this document: http://membersresource.intel.com/qic/files/2051-01.pdf on the second page is a picture of the cable. Guest fsoudbakhsh Report post Posted 03/06/2006 06:26 PM Bellow wiring diagram is what I concluded from information you gave me to interface analog lines with E1/T1 lines. With this configuration I need to have 2 dialogic boards: one analog and the other one digital. I have to attached the analog lines to analog board via terminal. And also I have to attaché E1/T1 lines to digital boards. Then I have to connect analog and digital bard to gather via Cbus cable. If I am right how I should confiner Voice guide to set up these lines to make Dial and conference call? For example I have a 24 analog line board, and a 30 line E1 line, do I have to by 54 line Voice guide license? Please confirm if I am right before I start shopping for these boards. Thanks a lot for your support. Share this post Link to post
SupportTeam Report post Posted 03/06/2006 09:50 PM Your diagram is right. The analog lines go in the analog card, and the digital lines go in the digital card, and then you connect the two cards together using the internal cable. For example I have a 24 analog line board, and a 30 line E1 line, do I have to by 54 line Voice guide license? Yes. (although there is no 24 line analog card- there are 4 line, 12 line and 16 line cards.) You can get two 12 line or two 16 line analog boards and one E1 board and then you just connect them all together with a cable. Mixed analog/digital systems are quite common.
