Guest Amanda van Scoyoc Report post Posted 03/01/2006 08:00 PM I am using Windows XP, voiceguide version Enterprise with 1 line, and we are using Dialogic Card D/4PCIU. We are currently trying to record the sound for our modules. When we first recorded we recorded into this format (PCM 22.050KHz, 8 bit, Mono.) When we play back the sound from these recordings, it is very clear. However, I think we need the format to be (PCM 8000Hz, 8 bit, Mono) for voiceguide to work correctly with our dialogic card. When we either convert the recorded sound to this format, or record in this format the sound is extremely static-y and difficult to understand. We are saving the sound files as .wav. How should we be recording/saving this to have it work with voiceguide but also have clear sound? -Amanda Share this post Link to post
SupportTeam Report post Posted 03/01/2006 09:16 PM Converting sound files is sometimes not a straightforward job - some tools do it better then others (we recommend Adobe Audition http://www.adobe.com/products/audition/main.html) and for professional results you should ask the recording studio to supply the sound files in correct format, so you do not need to do any conversion yourself. If you have originals in 22kHz then o should be able to get good quality 8kHz sound files out of them, but you may need to do some 'hiss-reduction' and other frequency-band-filtering...
