Direct In Dialing

Recommended Posts

My company is using DID (direct in dialing) service with 100 numbers from Telecom and would like to setup five to ten voice mails with different scripts. Please kindly advise the possibility of using DID with VG. Thanks.

VoiceGuide does support DID. It's value can be accessed throughout the scripts using the $RV_DNIS Result Variable.

Sounds like you are using an ISDN T1 or E1 line?

Really thanks for your prompt response. Yes, it is an E1 line. My next question is how to connect my computer with an E1 line. What kind of hardware I have to purchased? Any good and low cost suggestion? Also, is there any maximum limit of the number of mail box in VG?

Dialogic (Intel) D/300JCT card.

Not really. The default "XML-Database" approach used by scripts will start slowing down at about 5000, but you can easily adapt the voicemail scripts to use MS-SQL or My-SQL or any other DB as the voicemailbox info store, and then the amount of mailboxes is pretty much infinite.

1) what is the price of Dialogic (Intel) D/300JCT card?

2) Can I order it in Hong Kong (China)?

3) How about the software license If I have the VG installed with a E1 with 100 DID numbers? It is counted by DID number or the number of voice mail?

If you want a brand new card then you should contact Intel/Dialogic resellers. Many used cards are available on Ebay and here: http://www.thetelecomlink.com

We sell new cards as well - send and email to sales@VoiceGuide.com to get the price.

Neither. It is licensed for the number of lines used (ie: 30 is using a single E1) and the number of DIDs and voicemail boxes is not limited.
