SupportTeam Report post Posted 03/30/2006 01:17 AM It's not just the Microphone, it's the acoustics of the room, sound equalization and post processing as well... Professional prompts are produced in studios. See here of some links: http://www.voiceguide.com/servCallflowDesign.htm Share this post Link to post
ktruk Report post Posted 03/30/2006 08:49 AM Guest: Get yourself a cheap microphone-preamp (about $20-$50) with mono microphone input and maybe tone-controls, and connect it to line-in, get a decent quality proper microphone, the sort with a 1/4 inch jack (about $20-$30), even a Karioke one will be better than a cheap PC mic. This will go a long way towards getting a decent quality recording. Create a sound-deadened corner in a small-ish room (or room without too much echo/reverb) with cushions and/or drapes and some decent sound recording software (I use Cool Edit), kill all room noise/equipment (PC fans, laser printers, copiers) drape your PC if you have to (don't let it get hot) and you can get some good results, but you won't match studio quality. (PS: don't forget your 'do-not-disturb' sign for the door!) Share this post Link to post
