Guest Guest Report post Posted 03/30/2006 11:52 PM VoiceGuide for Dialogic can use either WAV files or VOX files. Wave files should be in the following format PCM 8000Hz, 8bit, Mono. VOX files should be in format 4bit ADPCM, 8000Hz. Is there any way to use a 16 bit Mono format with VG? Share this post Link to post
SupportTeam Report post Posted 03/31/2006 12:59 AM I think you should be able to. Try it and see... Anyway, converting from 16bit to 8bit is not a problem and will not add any 'hiss' to the file. Share this post Link to post
Guest Guest Report post Posted 03/31/2006 01:05 AM when i do use the 16bit mono, its slowed down in half 16bit mono is a much better quality but is there a way to keep the quality and put it on the VG? Share this post Link to post
SupportTeam Report post Posted 03/31/2006 01:27 AM Were you using v5 of VoiceGuide or is this with VG for Dialogic? The 'better quality' is only something you’d hear over your PC speakers - phone lines have much lower frequency response and that's why fairly low resolution sound files are only required when actually playing over phone lines. Inside voice modems and telephony cards the actual format used just before playing is 8kHz 4bit ADPCM (or similar) - so all sound data provided is ultimately converted down to that format before playing...
