What Hardware To Use For Hotline?

my friend have company and want to work with hotline service. he want one phone line to be attached to computer and computer will answer the phone, then must be choice (press 1 for something, pres 2 for something2... etc) and then after choice computer will played some hotline message.

what hardware he need for this, what line, analog or isdn(pri/bri) and what software, is it possible to use VG for this?

If you just want one phone line then it's best to use analog or ISDN BRI.

 

for analog we'd still recommend using a Dialogic card. The entry level Dialogic card is the D/4PCIU. It's a 4 port card. You'd then use "VG for Dialogic"

 

For BRI use an Eicon card and the TAPI version of VG.
