EagleOne Report post Posted 06/05/2006 04:21 PM We are a courier service, and we'd like to use this card for our drivers to be able to call in and update their status. So, with knowing Visual Basic and being able to program the proper interfaces into our own dispatching & routing system, what sort of limitations would we have with this equipment? I'm mostly curious about the phone ports. Do they roll over if one is busy? Does each port handle multiple incoming calls, or once a call is recieved must it complete it's full transaction before another call can be accepted? For us, there could potentially be a dozen drivers trying to call at one time. Thanks Share this post Link to post
SupportTeam Report post Posted 06/05/2006 09:00 PM Do they roll over if one is busy? That is something you set up in your PBX or with the Phone Company. Does each port handle multiple incoming calls, One call per line/port, just like a normal phone... If you know VB then you should be able to do any integration with the dispatch system from within VoiceGuide's VBScript module. Share this post Link to post
Guest meiotic Report post Posted 06/06/2006 05:54 AM Most phone companies provide the ability to rollover or hunt by default. If you are going to have that many callers at the same time, just go for a T-1. My voiceguide system uses 2 x T-1's and its fun to watch the monitor displaying the different lines playing wave files, prompting for digits. You typically pay for distinct phone numbers but you only need 1. Share this post Link to post
