vroberts2 Report post Posted 07/31/2006 07:20 PM I am currently using a voip provider and have a linksys pap2 converting to analog then into a dialogic d4pci. Has anyone seen a sip "soft phone" or client that can emulate a modem/telephony card in windows so that VoiceGuide could use it directly? I have looked and just haven't seen anything yet. Just would be nice to get rid of the extra hardware. Thanks Share this post Link to post
SupportTeam Report post Posted 07/31/2006 10:06 PM Which VoIP provider are you using? For reason why VoIP version has been postponed see: http://voiceguide.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=4151 For a 4 line system the extra CPU time used by the VoIP stack and tone detection transforms would not be a problem... vroberts2 Report post Posted 08/01/2006 01:36 AM I currently switched to citynet.net from packet8.net. They are a local provider in WV. Their POP is about an hour from me. So I figure that with all other things being equal the physical distance is giving me an advantage, because while packet8 was tolerable, this is quite good. Also I ran across this gpl'd sip tapi which looks interesting at least: http://www.enum.at/index.php?id=479 I installed it, but couldn't get it linked to voiceguide. Maybe if someone else has luck with it they'll email me. I'll also take a look at the comisdn. I just figured that without the digital to analog and back that the quality and performance may be better, not to mention more reliable for having less points of failure. That's not to say that I have a problem with the dialogic, because it works quite well. Thanks for the info Share this post Link to post
