Vg For Dialogic Configuration For D/240jct-t1 (config.xml)

Recommended Posts

I am trying to configure my Dialogic card in the voiceguide software, but I'm not sure how to do it. Is there a help file for config.xml?

My hardware is: D/240JCT-T1 card

Line settings in dialogic:

ESF Framing

B8ZS

We have a 23-line T1 PRI ISDN line connected to the card.

I tried using the sample 23-line file labeled:

Sample Config for 23 port using one T1 ISDN.xml

But voiceguide still complains it is not configured when I start it up.

I am unsure how to specify my card in the config.xml as a D/240JCT-T1. I am currently using the demo version of voiceguide.

What is the ISDN protocol used on these T1 PRI lines?

Please ask you telephone company what the protocol is and we'll be able to confirm the Config.xml required.

But voiceguide still complains it is not configured when I start it up.

What is the actual message? Can you post a screenshot?

The ISDN Protocol specified by the phone company was "standard". they also said their "standard" protocol, also supported NI2. so either "standard" or NI2 should work with their system.

here is the screenshot:

i'll try the new config.xml file you provide for me to see if that fixes the error.

if not, i will try re-installing and doing the "vg for dialogic upgrade" one more time.

i think i did the upgrade properly, but if i didn't then doing it a second time should fix it.

The "Sample Config for 23 port using one T1 ISDN.xml" which we can see you used here has a problem with the <notes> section being in the wrong place - and hence is not a valid XML file.

To fix this you can just delete the entire "<notes>...</notes>" section (including the start/end tags), or just use the attached sample config where the <notes> section has been moved to it's proper place.

(To check if XML file is valid just open it in InternetExplorer)

You should take "Sample ConfigLine for ISDN lines.xml" and use that as the ConfigLine.xml as well.

You should select NI2 as the protocol used in the Dialogic Config Manager.

If you still have problems after that then:

Enable logging by setting the log levels to 10 in VG.INI as per below:

[Log]

VoiceGuide=10

NumberLoader=0

VoicemailManager=0

EmailSender=0

TapiWrapOcx=10

SapiWrapOcx=0

Then restart VG.

Debug Trace files will be created in VG's \log\ subdirectory.

Please post the traces.

When posting traces/scripts please .ZIP them up and post them as attachments.

i used your provided xml that you attached for my "Config.xml"

and i used "Sample ConfigLine for ISDN lines.xml" as the ConfigLine.xml.

voiceguide started and didn't complain about not being configured anymore.

but, now i get a different error in the voiceguide window. i've attached a screenshot.

oh yeah one last piece of info...

there are 2 dialogic cards in the system.

one d/240jct-t1

and one intel disi conferencing card.

i might in the future use the conferencing card for a predictive dialer.

but for right now i just want to try out the autodialer.

What is the ISDN protocol on this line as indicated by the Telco?

Which ISDN protocol is selected for this card in Dialogic Configuration Manager?

Is the E1 line plugged into the Dialogic card and is the Green LED on the back of the card on?

I take it that you are enabling only one of the D/240JCT cards in the DCM, correct?

Good to hear it's all working fine.

As I understand you are using the 4 channel evaluation version at this stage please note that Telcos will sometimes send calls on other channels then the 4operned by VG. It depends on how the ISDN line is setup. If it's set to send calls on "first available channel" then you will see the call arrive on lowest available channel number. If it's set to "ascending" then the calls will arrive on subsequent channels - so the 5th call to the system (after E1 restart) would arrive on channel not opened by VG. Just something to watch out for.
