Guest NoviceNerd13 Report post Posted 08/14/2006 08:50 PM Hi, How many dialogic cards can be used at once for a simple ivr setup assuming pci slots are plentyfull on the motherboard? What amount of ram (ddr 400mhz) would be needed in this instance to power the boards or is there an equation on how much ram is needed per board? Many Thanks. Share this post Link to post
SupportTeam Report post Posted 08/14/2006 10:10 PM How many dialogic cards can be used at onceIt varies from card to card. Up to 16 of the 4-port analog Dialogic cards can be placed in one system. (These are cards like D/4PCIU ets). Up to 8 of the 12 port analog D/120JCT cards can be used. Up to 8 of the 16 port analog DMV160LP cards can be used. T1/E1 trunk cards seem to have a limit of about 10. Best to check with Dialogic to confirm individual limits. Most motherboards have 3-4 PCI slots, and you would have to resort to PCI bus extenders etc to get more cards then that into the system. It is usually better and cheaper to just get a higher density card rather then having to resort to using PCI bus extenders. Dialogic makes a range of cards up to cards which can process 120 channels on one card - four E1 trunks (card is DMV1200B). or is there an equation on how much ram is needed per board?VoiceGuide's extra RAM requirement per board is minimal (<1MB). As a rule of thumb 512MB is recommended for systems up to about 60 lines/channels, and 1GB RAM is recommended above that. Share this post Link to post
