Pbx Not Sending Tones Properly

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I have purchased a cheap pbx system to assist with script development and testing. I am using an intel hardware modem that operates perfectly without the pbx when dialling directly in.

When the pbx is connected, it has a problem sending the key presses to the modem. If you press a number repeatedly (between 2 and 10 times) it will send a single number to the modem.

I would like to get this up and running properly without mashing the phone keys a 1000 times.

Your assistance is appreciated.

Dave.

Not too sure why the PBX would affect DTMF tone transmission that way. You may want to speak to the PBX supplier about this...

Maybe the quality of sound transmission by this PBX is not very good. Try attaching the connection going to the modem/Dialogic to a phone handset instead and you will then be able to hear how the PBX is transmitting the DTMFs.

ok. attached another phone in place of the modem. The pbx is sending tones properly. There is a little bit of noise on the line, but considering how loud and clear the tones are, it shouldnt be affecting it.

any ideas?

You may want to try setting up a script with a record module that just times out recording after 30 seconds or so and then call into system and after recording is started just press all the DTMF keys one after another. Then .ZIP up and post both the recorded sound file and the VoiceGuide traces capturing the call.

This will give us a recording of what the Dialogic card heard as well as the list of DTMF tones that it reported hearing on the line.
