I wonder if voiceguide can be run as a service?

Search this Support Forum for "SRVANY". You will get a number of hits pointing to previous threads which outline how to setup VG to run as a service.

I found in another thread a program instsrv.exe to install/remove services. I can install voiceguide as a service, but i cannot start it.

There are a number of applications which you can use to start VG as a service - try using another one if instsrv.exe does not function as expected on your system.

I have try XYNTService and srvany.

 

SRVANY:

When I reboot my XP computer, the service name SRVANY start correctly but voice guide does't work.

If I stop the service, then start the service again , voiceguide work perfectly.

 

It's seemed that the service it starting to fast before a device driver maybe ??? Dialogic Modem that I have.

 

With XYNTService it's the same thing.

There is a parameter called PauseStart in xyntservice, but it's not working if I increase the number.

 

 

Have you tested voice guide in service at least ? I need the exact configuration for a XP computer please.

You need to make the VoiceGuide service dependant on the Dialogic service. The Dialogic services must be fully started before VG service is started. The “Pause Start” setting in XYNT Service should work... maybe the delay was not ling enough? It does take a few minutes to start the larger Dialogic systems...
