Guest solaroid Report post Posted 11/18/2006 05:40 AM When I open VoiceGuide, it pops up an error: -------------- VgMulti.exe - Application Error The instruction at "0x00000000" referenced memory at "0x00000000". The memory could not be "read". Click on OK to terminate the program Click on CANCEL to debug the program -------------- Below that there is another error: -------------- VoiceGuide has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience. If you were in the middle of omsething, the information you were owrking on might be lost. -------------- This hasn't happened before. I recently installed "IP Phone Center," which is the software that came with an RJ-11 USB adaptor. How do I fix? Share this post Link to post
Guest solaroid Report post Posted 11/18/2006 05:55 AM To clarify: I bought an RJ-11 USB phone adapter to answer Skype calls with VoiceGuide. The link is: http://www.cuphone.com/products/usb_to_rj1...aptor-combo.htm The adapter has a software called IP Phone Center which routs calls from Skype to the Dialogic Card. However, installing the software gives the errors in VG. Share this post Link to post
SupportTeam Report post Posted 11/18/2006 10:55 PM Hard to say what could have caused this... I'd try reinstalling the Dialogic drivers and then reinstalling VoiceGuide itself. Share this post Link to post
Guest solaroid Report post Posted 11/18/2006 11:48 PM I want to route SkypeIn calls through the RJ-11 adapter so that it can be picked up by VoiceGuide. Therefore, I need them both running at the same time. I have already reinstalled Dialogic drivers and VG, and it still doesn't work. Do you know of any other products that can do what I want? SupportTeam Report post Posted 11/19/2006 08:11 AM Looks like one of the DLLs used by VoiceGuide must have got corrupted (or infected with a virus?). If re-installing VG does not fix the problem then looks like you'll need to re-install Windows... Does the problem go away when you uninstall the "IP Phone Center"? Share this post Link to post
Guest solaroid Report post Posted 11/19/2006 10:19 PM Yes, like I said, if I uninstall IP Phone Center, then VoiceGuide works again. Share this post Link to post
SupportTeam Report post Posted 11/19/2006 10:45 PM if I uninstall IP Phone Center, then VoiceGuide works again. Looks like IP Phone Center is changing some Windows' DLLs which VoiceGuide is using as well... The only solution at this stage would be for you to stop using IP Phone Center... Guest Buzby Report post Posted 11/19/2006 11:39 PM How about installing your apps in the following sequence: 1) Dialogic 2) IP Phone Centre 3) VoiceGuide That way if IPPC messes with VoiceGuide DLLs, then the installation of VG last will prevent this happening. Just a thought, and sorry if this was really obvious to you and already tried... Share this post Link to post
SupportTeam Report post Posted 11/19/2006 11:57 PM I think this sequence was already tried: 1) IP Phone Centre 2) Dialogic 3) VoiceGuide And VoiceGuide still crashes on starting. It's intriguing to see that all goes back to normal when IP Phone Centre is uninstalled. Suggests that some DLLS are replaced on uninstallation of IP Phone Centre (?). Share this post Link to post
Guest solaroid Report post Posted 11/20/2006 08:55 PM I still can't get it working. ** Do you know of any other products that can do what I want? To reiterate, this is what I want: People call my SkypeIn number. I need a USB-phone adapter to transfer the Skype VOIP call in to the Dialogic card. Therefore, VoiceGuide will automatically answer the SkypeIn call. What kind of adapter can do that? Please suggest a product. Thanks. (if you don't know what SkypeIn is, see http://www.skype.com/products/skypein/) Share this post Link to post
SupportTeam Report post Posted 11/20/2006 10:46 PM You should speak with your VoIP provider (Skype in this case) to see which media gateways they recommend for use with their service. Share this post Link to post
Guest solaroid Report post Posted 11/21/2006 01:27 AM It's a piece of hardware that I'm looking for. You don't know any that are definitely compatible with VoiceGuide? Share this post Link to post
SupportTeam Report post Posted 11/21/2006 01:54 AM Media gateways from Linksys seem to be popular. Not sure if they work with Skype though... This is the first case where we have seen another program affect VoiceGuide like this. I'd try just using any other hardware-only type solution. If you are not installing any software on the same PC then VG cannot be affected in any way... Share this post Link to post
