Playback Speed Of .wav Too Slow

Recommended Posts

Hi.

I've recorded a message using the voice recorder. I want to use it in the "play sound file" when I do outgoing calls.

When I call out, the voice file is indeed played, but the speed of the speech is suddenly reduced compared to when I play the .wav file on the pc.

I am positioned in Denmark.

I use Intel Dialogic D41JCTLS-eu and they work fine with other programs.

When I make text to speech the talking speed is alright.

Attached you find a sample .wav.

I cannot see where my error is. Anybody know what to do?

Best regards

Henrik

The sound file attached is recorded in 11kHz format.

From: http://www.voiceguide.com/vghelp/html/SoundFiles.htm :

VoiceGuide for Dialogic can use either WAV files or VOX files. Wave files should be in the following format PCM 8000Hz, 8bit, Mono.

11kHz sound files will sound 'slow' when played back on system which expects 8kHz sound files.

Hi

Thanks for your answer. It worked. :) the reason for using the 11k was that we found a helpfile on your webpage saying that dialogic cards should use 11k.

New question:

We are interested in buying your software, and would like to continue testing/developing by buying the 4 channel version and later upgrade to the 8 channel if we find it neccessary.

Now, will the 8 line system work with only one dialogic 4 line card - or will the system then try and call via the last 4 lines that are not installed/connected aswell?

Is it then neccessarry to have all 8 lines installed?

The point is that we currently don't see the need for purchasing 8 lines at the phone company but we will probably some time in the future, and might buy the 8 line software now.

Thanks for the answer,

Henrik

Yes. You can specify in Config.xml a smaller number of lines then the maximum allowed by the installed license.

If the lines are not configured then they will not be used. Even if they are configured then if VG cannot physically open those lines then it will report that these lines cannot be opened and will only use those lines which it was able to open.
