LTympanick Report post Posted 02/19/2007 04:38 PM Dear VG, I currently have on order a Dialogic D240JCT-T1 card. I am trying to verify what I should communicate with my Telco regarding specs for my T-1 line. In particular, I'm wondering what to tell them with regard to Basic Circuit Info, Signalling & Protocol. With regard to Basic Circuit Info, should I be specifying, T1, PRI T1 or Integrated T-1? 23 or 24 lines? With regard to Signalling should it be: Ground Start, Loop Start, E&M Wink, E&M Immediate, PRI (ISDN)? With regard to Protocol should it be: NI1 OR NI2? Also do I have to worry about FAS & NFAS (See attachment)? I just want the most conventional & reliable thing I can do to make VG for Diaglogic with Dialer work the best. I have attached their order form so you can see the kinds of things they're looking for. Any help would be greatly appeciated. Thanks. NBS_LDDED_NJ5000N_1_.pdf Share this post Link to post
SupportTeam Report post Posted 02/19/2007 09:33 PM You should specify PRI ISDN. Choose the "NI2" protocol. Also do I have to worry about FAS & NFAS (See attachment)? Select FAS (Facility Associated Signaling). The signaling "D" channel should be on the last channel of the T1 - the 24th channel. Leaving you 23 channels for voice traffic. You do not want NFAS. ISDN NFAS allows a single D channel to control multiple PRI interfaces. Share this post Link to post
LTympanick Report post Posted 02/20/2007 12:28 PM Thanks for your response. Is there any way to get use of all 24 T-1 channels? I've got a 4-wire connection vs 2-wire? Does that help? It's a bummer to have to give one up? I will talk to the Telco about this as well but just wondering if from your extensive experience you have any creative thoughts on this? Thanks. SupportTeam Report post Posted 02/20/2007 01:07 PM Is there any way to get use of all 24 T-1 channels? No. The T1 ISDN is a 23 channel service. All ISDN lines are 4 wire. Share this post Link to post
LTympanick Report post Posted 02/21/2007 03:08 AM Right. 4-Wire it is. Looks like since I'm connecting directly with an LD carrier PRI-ISDN is not an option. Looks like it will be CAS Robbed-bit, E&M wink. Will VG Outbound Dialer be able to work with that setup? Looks like the D/240JCT-T1 supports that. Should it be any problem? With this signalling, I get to use all 24 lines. Share this post Link to post
SupportTeam Report post Posted 02/21/2007 04:08 AM Configuration is a lot more difficult with CAS/Robbed-bit type setups. There are no problems once it is all configured properly. Share this post Link to post
LTympanick Report post Posted 02/28/2007 01:33 PM OK, Now sounds like they can give me PRI-ISDN. I will go with it if I can. Is there a setup in the standard VG delivery that properly configures a D240JCT-T1 for the PRI-ISDN 23 channel option. Also, do I pay for 23 or 24 lines in this case? Thanks. SupportTeam Report post Posted 02/28/2007 09:26 PM Is there a setup in the standard VG delivery that properly configures a D240JCT-T1 for the PRI-ISDN 23 channel option.Yes. Have a look at the sample Config.xml files provided. Also, do I pay for 23 or 24 lines in this case? You'll need to get the 24 line license, there is no 23 line license option.
