Vg Compatible Voip Solution...

Recommended Posts

Due to cost we would like to use VOIP via SIP protocol and thus we have secured access to a 1 mbps connection to place outbound calls, as far as I can see there are two Dialogic solutions;

Option 1; Use a Dialogic analog card such as D/41JCT-LS and connect the ports to a SIP adapter(s)

which then connects to the 1 mbps broad band line.

Option 2; Use an Dialogic IP card that supports SIP natively such as DM/IP241-1T1 which then

connects to the 1 mbps broad band line.

Per a Dialogic vendor option 2 only supports 10Mbps network connection speed (not our preferred $olution, at least to start with, perhaps down the road)

Could anyone (from Support or VG Users) advise us as to a VG compatible telephony card solution with integrated SIP support which would allow us to use VOIP to place the calls over a 1mbps connection? or is option 1 my best bet?

thanks in advanced,

Ralph

Go with option 1.

With which provider are you getting the VoIP channels? The VoIP provided will advise/recommend which VoIP media gateway has been tested with their service.

thanks for the advice regarding the Dialogic option..

We have looked at several providers and are leaning towards one of these Inphonex, VoicePulse and Clicconnect, all provided recommendations for SIP adapters they tested. The one caveat is that most recommended SIP adapters are small SIP adapter type which accomodate one to two lines at best. Although these would work fine, we prefer not to have a group of boxes dongling off the Dialogic card, so we are looking at Grandstream GXW-4108 or Ustarcom' s iAN-08E8, one of these adapters would consolidate the lines from the D/41JCT-LS and give us room for growth should we decide to add another 4 lines. I just hope this VOIP experiment works..:)!

From VoiceGuide’s & Dialogic's point of view they it's just an analog line, so they will function as they normally would.

Make sure that the Media Gateway you select has been verified by the VoIP lines provider as functioning well with their service.

For larger systems you may want to look at using an E1/T1 card and gateway.
