I would like to learn the setup of 4 phone line systems, as well as 50+ phone line systems using dialogic card and voice guide software from scrach. 1) What kind of the hardware equipment is required? 2) Are there any schematic drawings available online? 3) Is there a online source for telephone systems setups? SupportTeam Report post Posted 08/09/2003 04:51 AM 1) What kind of the hardware equipment is required? 4 lines system - requires a 4 port analog card - eg: D4PCI or D41ESC 50+ phone line systems - requires higher density Dialogic cards, like a D240 or D300 D240 handles 24 lines, and D300 handles 30 lines. D240 is used for T1 lines - used in US/Canada D300 is used for E1 lines - used in rest of the world. 2) Are there any schematic drawings available online? The telephone lines are just plugged into the back of the card. 3) Is there a online source for telephone systems setups? Not really - if you have a PBX then this would be the PBX manual - otherwise you speak to your telephone company. Share this post Link to post
Necser Report post Posted 08/12/2003 09:03 PM Thank you very much for this information. Right now I'm looking into 4 phone system with D4PCI, but the card only has 4 ports. How would you connect 4 telephones and one external phone line to only 4 ports? How many calls can D4PCI handle at the same time, or this is strictly limited to a number of external lines? Right now I am testing VG with Creative v92 voice modem. I was wondering if it is possible to connect the phone to the modem and have a transfer work somehow. Right now the VG is taking this line and I don't know how to get it to transfer the call to the actual phone. Thanks In advance. Share this post Link to post

You only connect phone lines to it, not telephone handsets - you'll need a PBX and connect the handsets to the PBX... How many calls can D4PCI handle at the same time, or this is strictly limited to a number of external lines? strictly limited to a number of external lines. To do call transfers you'll need a PBX.
