How To Retrieve International Caller Ids

Hi,

 

I am facing a problem that I hope someone can help me.

 

I need to get all the digits of the international caller ids. Presently, I am only getting 10 digits. I can't tell if the call originates from within the U.S. or outside of the U.S.

 

Any idea is appreciated.

You would need to contact your phone company to ensure that they are sending all the digits to you.

 

Some phone companies limit the number of digits sent to the last 10 digits...

 

You could also post the trace from VoiceGuide to let us confirm whether VoiceGuide is correctly redin ion what is sent to uit from the Telco.

 

 

 

Enable logging by setting the log levels to 10 in VG.INI as per below:

[Log]

 

ktTel=10

Then restart VG and make a test call which demonstrates the problem.

 

Trace files will be created in VG's \log\ subdirectory.

 

Please post the "tw" traces.

 

When posting traces/scripts please .ZIP them up and post them as attachments.

Please find attached file the log file. the 9177205835 is the international caller id i received by VG. this caller id is missing country code which is 98. it is extremely difficult for me to find the originated country code.

 

I understand it is possible that phone companies limit the number of digits sent. but is there any software out there that can distinguish the originate country code by the first 3 digit code in caller ID?

Traces confirm that the phone company is only sending you the last 10 digits of the CallerID.

 

If you used ISDN then most likely the full CallerID would be sent (need to check this first with your phone company though).

Not that we're aware of.
