gary_dev1 Report post Posted 07/13/2007 10:41 PM Is there a document or web page explaining the differences between versions 6 and 7 please. The price difference is enough to warrant taking a close look at 6. I need VoIP outdialing so hopefully 6 supports that? Thanks. I did search this forum before posting but it doesn't like keywords smaller than 3 chars. Share this post Link to post
SupportTeam Report post Posted 07/13/2007 11:04 PM The v7 download page summarizes the differences. Please see: https://secure.voiceguide.com/download_vg7.htm I need VoIP outdialing so hopefully 6 supports that? You would need to attach an Analog->VoIP converter to one of the Dialogic card's ports to be able to send out the calls on VoIP with v6. Share this post Link to post
gary_dev1 Report post Posted 07/14/2007 09:55 AM Thanks for the quick reply, sorry I didn't spot that info. I think I do need v7 as we don't want to buy telephony cards. We'll be using a 3rd party PSTN Termination service so our VoIP calls go out via the Internet - we may need to make up to 300 simultaneous calls which is something we'd never be able to afford if we use ISDN30. However, your pricing for v7 suggets it will cost $15K if we start with a basic 60 simultaneous calls. This is really expensive and throws water over the main benefit of using VoIP (low-cost capacity). I think we need the Ent version as we want to use TTS, but I read in another thread that we can use a SAPI tool to pre-generate a WAV file from the TTS engine and simply point VG to a WAV file. (Each batch of outbound calls will be the same.) If we do that can we make do with the Pro version? If so that's still $12K for just 60 simultaneous calls. Is there no discount for bigger orders or does using VoIP only remove the need to purchase a license based on "lines". (We won't actually have any lines). Thanks. Share this post Link to post
SupportTeam Report post Posted 07/14/2007 01:03 PM Please contact sales@voiceguide.com regarding pricing of VoiceGuide licenses. There may be some discounts available for 60+ line v7 license orders. I read in another thread that we can use a SAPI tool to pre-generate a WAV file from the TTS engine and simply point VG to a WAV file. Yes, there is nothing stopping you from adopting this approach. We have other customers generating the TTS themselves instead of using VoiceGuide's inbuilt TTS generation capability. The term 'line' refers to a telephone connection - be it over a T1/E1 channel or VoIP channel. Share this post Link to post
