D/4pci And Windows Xp

Recommended Posts

I have installed a d/4pci board into a Windows XP box. It doesn't seem to find the board using DCM. I can add it manually, but it doesn't start.

If I run UDD I get these results:

System Download ...

GENBOOT not responding on board 0.

WSB0324: ???? (PCI ID 0) download failed - GENBOOT did not start

No Dialogic Boards Successfully Installed

I have loaded the same board into another Windows XP machine and it works correctly, so I think there is something wrong on the software side, or the hardware side of the new PC.

I'm using SR 5.1.1.

Any thoughts?

If the card is detected and works fine in another PC then the best next step is to contact the supplier of the non-working PC and ask them why is the card not detected in the PC which they supplied.

The Dialogic DCM should be finding the card automatically, there should be no need for you to add the card manually.

Greg: Couple of other things to try:

1. Reseat the cards in its slot once or twice.

2. Chk its listed in device manager and working there

3. Search in this forum for "winstrm.dll" (see: winstrm.dll) - it may help.

Thanks for the winstrm.dll idea. I ended up replaced the one dated 8-4-2004, with an older one dated 3-31-2003. That allowed the PC to see the boards in DCM. However, I still get an error attempting to start the boards.

The error in the Windows Event Viewer is :

CTBBAPI.exe 01.50 bld 3 (release).

0x20000060 : CTBB_ERROR_BC_ALL_SBCS_INCAPABLE: During bus configuration, no static bus configuration was found which could support all of the FRUs on the TDM bus, in combination with user defined values.

Exit value : 0x60.

I'll try and research what that might be, but if anyone has any other hints, that would be great.

Follow up that might help someone else.

We found that rolling back to an older version of the DELL BIOS addressed the problem. There must have been some sort of PCI instructions in the new BIOS that conflicted.
