Bt Revelation (tsp Settings)

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I am curently evaluating VoiceGuide which I find very intuitive and easy to use. I am however knocking my head against a brick wall trying to find out what TSP settings with Dialogic D41EPCI I should be using for a BT Revelation PBX (2 Lines + 6 ext. Only one line is used).

The PBX does support internal & external transfers, so when I dial ext1 from from my dialogic extension, answer ext1 then press the 'R' key to get a dialtone then dial ext2, the latter starts ringing and I am able to hangup my dialogic extension and connect ext1 & ext2 together. I need to keep the flash key pressed for maybe half a second to get a dialtone.

However when I use voiceguide, I can not get the second extension ext2 to ring and having read the forums and articles I realise that the Dialogic TSP settings, board parameters and PBX strings need to be set correctly and I have searched everywhere for those settings for my BT revelation PBX but without succes.

I am hoping someone would be able to point me somewhere where I can find out.

Many thanks

Which version of VoiceGuide are you using?

You should be using v6 or v7.

Neither of v6 or v7 use the TAPI layer, so you should not be using the Dialogic TSP configuration.

Please read the sections relating to v6 and v7 in this Help file page: http://www.voiceguide.com/vghelp/source/ht...lltransfers.htm

Also try changing the hookflash length or adding a comma (or two commas) at the beginning of the extension number to have a bit of a pause after the hookflash is dialed and before the extension number is dialed.

The length of time you press the R key on your phone is unlikely to affect the hookflash length issued by the phone.

Hi,

I am using VG 5.X for TAPI as version 6 or 7 requires Dialogic SR6 which is not compatible with my Dialogic D41EPCI unless I am mistaken. Please confirm if I am wrong.

I have followed your instructions in the help section http://www.voiceguide.com/vghelp/source/ht...lltransfers.htm and I have tried increasing the flash length to 100 since having a diconnection without ringing seems to indicate that the flash length was too low but this is still not working. I have tried to send DTMF !,20 (20 is my ext 2) but this also has not worked. I am wodering if my TSP settings are all completely wrong and I was hoping that soneone might have some experience with the BT Revelation PBX. I will be more than happy to send you my PBX for you to try it if this was practical

Best Regards

You can use Dialogic's SR5.1.1+SP1 drivers with VoiceGuide v6.

(You can probably use v5.1.1+SP1 drives with v7 as well, but we have not tried it).

I managed to get the destination phone ring at last!!. I have decreased the flash duration to a value of 5 (50 ms) and I have accidentally found that "!!" initiates a flash hook following a pause for the dialtone. The problem now is that once the other party answers the consultation call if the first party hangs-up, I get disconnected. Any ideas what parameters I should be playing with?? I am using VG 5.XX.

Many Thanks

Looks like you are using a 'double hook flash'. some PBXs allow this to send the hookflash to the PSTN network, so you are no longer transferring between extensions on the PBX, but can transfer to another phone number using the Telco's switch. Is this what you are doing?

The problem now is that once the other party answers the consultation call if the first party hangs-up, I get disconnected.

The purpose of the transfer is for the original caller to speak to the caller to whom the call is transferred. If the original caller hangs up then the call to the second caller would be dropped as well.

Do you want the recipient of the transfer to be able to interact with the IVR system after the first caller hangs up?

I am using VG 5.XX.

BTW. You should definitely move to v6. TAPI drivers have inherent problems which make them unsuitable for applications which do call transfers.

No. The dialogic card plays no part in the interaction except for transferring the call to the destination. If you could advise on what kind of TSP settings I should be playing with to stop the call from being disconnected after transfer that would help me.

I am trying to get the existing VG script based on 5.X to work before I explore version 6 or 7.

Many thanks for your all your help. The support is outstanding.

(oops!) Baltazar: The UK (timed-break) flash-hook length is officially 100mS for the UK. This period is fixed (by design, on the actual handset you are using) when you press R on an officially approved UK Telecoms device (such as a std handset connected to a std pbx, such as the Revelation). Holding the button down won't make any difference if you are using (as you are supposed to) 'timed-break' recall. If you are using TAPI (at least to begin with) then the TSP settings do need to be set to this. When I did this (some years ago now) I could not get the TSP settings (as accessed via the Dialogic 'advanced modem settings via control panel) to work on a D4PCI card. I had to modify a PRM file and set the value there, then refer to this parameter file in the cards DCM settings. I finally got this to work after many hours (days!) of frustrating effort. Note: a) Search the forum for my early posts, I am sure I covered the details at the time and posted them here. B) the dialogic settings are set in 10mS units, so, if you want 100mS, you enter a value of 10, ie: 10x10mS=100mS. c) editing an existing prm file is easy, but only change the flash-hook setting. Any other changes could invalidate approval for card use and cause other problems.
