badams500 Report post Posted 10/25/2007 02:42 PM How are message waiting lamps on Option 11C 25.x phone sets controlled by Voiceguide Voicemail? We are currently using a serial integration with Cisco Unity, but are considering a change. Thanks Share this post Link to post
SupportTeam Report post Posted 10/25/2007 10:02 PM Firstly you would need to contact the PBX supplier to see how the message lamps can be turned on/off on the version of PBX which you have. You will need to establish whether you have the option of turn message lamps on and off by inband DTMF tones, and if yes, then what tones are needed. Alternatively you will need to find out what commands need to be sent over the Serial port to turn the message lamps on and off. The DTMF Inband Signaling tones are setup in VoiceGuide's Voicemail configuration tools, and the sending of the commands over a serial port is done using the Serial_Tx COM command from the VoiceGuide script. Please see: http://www.voiceguide.com/vghelp/source/ht...om_serialtx.htm Once we know what commands the PBX requires to set the lamps on/off we can then advise how to configure VoiceGuide to send these commands to the PBX. badams500 Report post Posted 11/01/2007 02:19 PM Have you interfaced from Voiceguide to a legacy PBX with a SIP-to-T1 gateway (like the Dialogic TIMG300DTI or Audiocodes Mediant)? SupportTeam Report post Posted 11/01/2007 08:44 PM The TIMG300DTI / DMG2030DTI is OK. To establish what features are supported by the DMG2030DTI and Meridian Option 11C combination you can see: http://www.dialogic.com/manuals/mediagatew...tartedGuide.pdf Another option instead of using a media gateway would be to connect VoiceGuide directly to the PBX over a T1. badams500 Report post Posted 11/02/2007 01:04 PM We plan to run the messaging server on a blade, so would prefer to use an external gateway. Is there any downside to running the Dialogic IP-Media Gateway vs. a Dialogic single T-1 PCI card to establish the interface to the PBX? Thanks, Bruce The TIMG300DTI / DMG2030DTI is OK. SupportTeam Report post Posted 11/02/2007 09:29 PM Is there any downside to running the Dialogic IP-Media Gateway vs. a Dialogic single T-1 PCI card to establish the interface to the PBX? No major downside for a voicemail type application. Some minor delay to the voice path would be added by routing the call through an external gateway, but this delay would not be noticeable to the user. Is the Dialogic Media Gateway interface an option within the Voiceguide software for Dialogic Cards or does the Gateway look like an IP interface to Voiceguide? VoiceGuide's VoIP extensions would be registered with the Dialogic Media Gateway using the SIP REGISTER messages, just like registering them with any other VoIP Gateway/PBX/Switch. The Dialogic Media Gateway is same like all other VoIP Gateway/PBX/Switch. Share this post Link to post
badams500 Report post Posted 11/09/2007 12:36 PM So what would the config files look like for integration of Voiceguide through the Dialogic IP-Media Gateway, assuming that the gateway is interfaced via T1 QSIG to a legacy Nortel Meridian 1 PBX? SupportTeam Report post Posted 11/11/2007 11:03 AM Dialogic's Media Gateways do not require for the VoIP system to register any extensions with the Media Gateway, so all that VoiceGuide needs to do is to open the VoIP ports and await incoming calls routed to it by the Media Gateway. And on outgoing calls to send the calls to the Media Gateways IP address). Media Gateway configuration is covered on the "Dial Plan": section of the Media Gateways User Guide: http://www.dialogic.com/manuals/mediagateway/UsersGuide.pdf See the "VoIP to TDM Calls" section on p149 of that document and the "TDM to VoIP Calls" section on p150. These two pages show how to configure the Media Gateway to correctly forward calls in both directions. I attach a copy of the Config.xml file which is to be used with VoiceGuide to open 24 VoIP ports. You will need 24 HMP licenses as well to open all 24 ports. Dialogic provides detailed instructions on how to configure the Nortel to work with their Media Gateway.
