Naum Report post Posted 11/28/2007 01:58 AM I remember that when I used Version 5.2.4 of VG for one of my clients there was ability to see the LOG live besides the fact that it was all going into the LOG subfolder. Now I am using version 6 for a different client. When I press <Ctrl>L it tells me to set various parameters to 10 inside the VG.INI file which is fine... but there is no LIVE LOG. Is there any way to enable it also. I believe it was very useful feature. If it bothered somebody they could always close the window. Sure it could slow down machine a bit but for debugging purposes it was very helpful when it was LIVE. Another thing that could be useful, if you are up to it, is actually create LOGs on a port basis i.e. 1120vgm01.txt for port 1 etc... instead of all ports into the same file where they get intervened and it is cumbersome to follow the thread sometimes. Sure I can right a utility to separate it ( or maybe you already have it I am sure when you have to look at Traces from people from all over the world you probably separating them into separate files by ports, at least I would ), but I think it is simpler and cleaner when you write the file you write to 4 or 8 or 24 files at the same time, just an idea/recommendation maybe some other people already expressed it. SupportTeam Report post Posted 11/28/2007 02:14 AM You can use WinTail app to view the logs in real time. See http://www.baremetalsoft.com/wintail/ WinTail is a free application and is installed as part of VoiceGuide v7 install. A GREP tool can be used to extract a events for a particular port/line from the trace. Share this post Link to post
