Voip Plugin?

Recommended Posts

hi

You might remember we tried to implement the recording feature but were unsuccessful due to flash times, PABX incompatibilities, etc

It ocurred to us that there may be some plugin, software, VOIP, or whatever that could work. For example, over VOIP we could record in the attendant's computer?

Please help as we really need to record the incoming calls but the regular way is just no good. Thanks.

I want to record the call somehow OUTSIDE of voiceguide: either directly by the computer where VG is installed or somehow in the operator's PC (by using some Voip app that somehows attaches to voiceguide perhaps?)

We tried SEVERAL times to record with VG's record call options (even using your valuable support) to no avail, so we wasting no more time on that option.

So, if we can somehow record OUTSIDE of VG or in the operator's PC that might work.

Do you need to record the call after it has been transferred to the operator?

The options on how to do this are listed in the Help file's entry on Record module: http://www.voiceguide.com/vghelp/source/html/modrecord.htm

Which version of VoiceGuide are you using?

Are you running a VoIP system or are you using a Dialogic card? If a Dialogic card then what model of Dialogic card is used on this system?

Voiceguide is 5.2.5049 on a ISA dialogic card D/41D-k installed on a windows 2003 server

Please don't even try to tell us to use some recording feature of voiceguide: we've just had it with messing with flash times and all: if you could just point us to a 3rd party solution that could record either on the server or on the client we'd be very thankful

If you are using a Dialogic card then you should be using v6 or v7 or VoiceGuide, not v5... Dialogic TAPI drivers have many problems and they should not be used them.

If you are looking for external recorders take a look at www.nice.com or similar....

actually, we had PLENTY of problems with the newer versions and also with the dialogic-only ones: they suck A LOT of memory and are too heavy on the CPU also, so we are back to old version 5

we thought about using some sotware based media gateway or such that would allow us to implement a voip service to allow the operators to use more effectively their pcs to also originate and make calls instead of having to old phones AND computers on their desks

that way they could record the call, check the caller's orders, and do a lot of stuff from their PCs

version 6 of VoiceGuide uses a similar amount of memory to version 5.

You will have problems if you try using v5 with Dialogic’s TAPI drivers. As mentioned before, the Dialogic TAPI drivers have problems. That is why they have been discontinued now for a number of years.

It sounds like what you want is to move to a pure VoIP system, in which case you should look at using VoiceGuide v7 running in VoIP mode.

you are wrong: v.6 uses 180 Mb and v.5 uses only 25Mb tops (at least in our system!)

we will try version 7 however, as you may be right that a pure voip solution may be best
