n2vip Report post Posted 02/09/2008 03:57 PM I am considering making a small VoiceGuide appliance based on the Intel D201GLY2[0] motherboard with built-in Celeron 1.2 GHz CPU, 1 Gig of RAM, and SATA HD running Windows XP Professional and MS Access for a database. Initially I would want to develop/test with a voice modem, but I would ultimately upgrade to a Dialogic 4 port card (like the D/4PCIU). The applications will be fairly simple (minimal database access), and would likely not have more than two calls at the same time. My questions are, is the Celeron 1.2 GHz suitable for use with both a single-line voice modem and a four port Dialogic card and do you know of anyone doing any testing on such a platform? The investment/risk is minimal if it doesn't work out, but I thought I'd ask before I try it... SupportTeam Report post Posted 02/09/2008 10:34 PM Yes, that should be sufficient for a 4 port system. Strongly recommend getting the Dialogic card. Most likely you'll waste a lot of time trying to find a voice modem that actually works well enough to properly test with. Share this post Link to post
