Cisco Call Manager 4.2 Integration

Recommended Posts

Can somebody give me a step by step instructions as to how connect VoiceGuide to a Cisco Call Manager 4.2. Particulary the steps required on the Call Manager side.

Thanks,

Ben

Does your CallManager support SIP, or only H.323?

Do the VoIP telephone handsets which are attached to it use SIP or H.323 to communicate with the CallManager?

If the phones are configured as SIP then you should be able to add VoiceGuide to the system as other SIP extensions. Instructions on how to register SIP extensions are provided in the Help file. Please see: http://www.voiceguide.com/vghelp/source/ht...ip_register.htm

You would need to configure the CallManager to setup the new extensions.

I was however advised that CallManager 4.2 does not include SIP end-point support, only H.323.

VoiceGuide can act like a H.323 endpoint as well, but it at this stage does not support H.323 features which facilitate 'auto-discovery' and 'auto-setup' type functionality, which is what the Cisco H.323 phones use when plugged into the network. You would need to setup the H.323 call routes manually.

I can't find the answer I am looking for, but I have setup a ton of H323 gateways on CallManagers.

Select Device / Gateway / Add a New Gateway. Gateway type: H.323 Gateway, Device Protocol: H.255, click Next. For the Device Name enter the IP of the device. For the Description use something that will make it easy to find and know what it is. For Pool select a Gateway. Set the Calling Search Space to a valid selection for your setup, typically User. Check Display IE Delivery and Redirecting Number ID Delivery - Outbound. Click Insert and then reset the Gateway.

Aaron,

We had same problem, reinstalling the HMP drivers did the job. See earlier post.
