How do you play a confirmation # by digits which has both letters and numbers - Ex. KH7GU9 ?

Play Number module won't work. When you create an RV with a comma between each character and try to play it, it sounds muted and garbled for the characters following the first numeric character (Above example - KH7 sound OK, but GU9 sound garbled. When I changed the numeric characters to letters, it sounded fine).

You could use Text-To-Speech to speak out the code.

You could use the Say Numbers module if you add the letters sound files to the \Voice\ subdirectory. Ie: A.wav, B.wav, C.wav, etc.

The letters are not by default supplied in pre-recorded files in VoiceGuide's \Voice\ subdirectory, so you cannot use the Say Numbers module 'out-of-the-box' for speaking out alpha characters.

I think you must have already recorded the A.wav, B.wav C.wav etc to be able to do the above, yes?

You should check that all sound files are of the same format, otherwise the playback will ,be garbled with the first sound file that is of different format.

Quick question, could I replace the numeric digits with their word equivalent ? Ex: KH7GU9 would be K,H,seven,G,U,nine

In the input supplied to VoiceGuide? Is the external system/database supplying "seven" etc. instead of "7" etc ?

Probably better to convert the "seven" etc. into numbers as you receive them- use a VBScript for that.

Actually this worked. However, now I'm trying to slow down the sound file or insert breaks via the VB script, with Break, Silent, Prosody, Rate, etc commands but VG doesn't seem to be recognizing the commands & it still sounds the same. Any suggestions ?

Also, is there any way to eliminate the background static in some sound files ?

Are you using TTS or the Say Numbers module?

Is this in TTS or in pre-recorded sound files?

v7 does not have the background static noise that you will hear in v5 and v6 systems.
