Wav File Problem

Recommended Posts

I am using VG 7. I recorded wav files for my script using all the specs listed for dialogic boards. I used the standard 8 bit 1 kHz sampling format and got a lot of static. However, it worked. After I increased the 8 bit recording to more than 5 kHz sampling, playback via the script recorder sounds perfect, however when I call the line, playback is painfully slow and useless.

How can I get good sound quality but normal play-back speed?

What recording format should I use?

This Help file page lists the formats which you should use with VoiceGuide v7: http://www.voiceguide.com/vghelp/source/html/soundfiles.htm

The ULaw and ALaw files should have an 8kHz sampling rate.

You can have a look at the sound files installed with VoiceGuide, in VoiceGuide's \system\voice\ subdirectory or in the Calling Card demo script.

If you still have problems please .ZIP up the sound files you created and post them here.

Thanks for the suggestions.

However, how do I get the WAV recordings to play at normal speeds? Right now they're slow and sound like Darth Vadar. I use Microsoft Sound Recorder for recording the WAV files. When I play them back using Sound Recorder, they sound fine. However, when I call, VoiceGuide plays them back at this incredibly slow speed.

To play at right speed in VoiceGuide the sound files need to be in the right format.

Have you looked at the format in which your sound files are recorded?

Have a look at the sound files in VoiceGuide's \system\voice\ subdirectory. They will be recorded in the right format.

If you still have problems then .ZIP up and post one of your sound files here and we can take a look at it and advise why it isn't working.
