Is there any particular software you might recommend to record .WAV files to play as prompts? I tried Audacity and it apparently did not work even when I chose the audio parameters specifed in the the Voiceguide documentation

The basic Windows' Sound Recorder can be used. It comes with every version of Windows (sndrec32.exe).

 

A more advanced application is Adobe Audition : http://www.adobe.com/products/audition/

Nagy: By default, windows recorder only records a minutes worth of wav. If you you dont want to spend much, get a 'freeware' version of "cool-edit". Quite obsolete now, but still works for me (on XP at least!). Alternatively, check out some of the lite/express versions of some of the 'music mix/keyboard' programs like calkwalk.
