I am trying to calculate how much bandwith and traffic usage is require for say a 40 line system if all 40 lines were to be used 24/7 for a month what the max amount of traffic that could be generated in 30 days and what bandwith would be required.

You must be talking about a VoIP system (?).

A G.711 VoIP channel will use 64kb/s = 8kB/s = 28.1MB/hour = 675MB/day = 19.78GB/30days

 

So 40 channels over 30 days would use up to 791GB
