Guest joefromireland Report post Posted 07/17/2008 01:37 AM It not clear to me how to set up the config file do you have a step by step guide to this I am going back to trying to get it running on the trial version Thanks Also I had to defer the order as I would not have been able to transfer the licence to a different PC .I had wished to get it up and running on my home pc and then rent a server or colocate whichever was the best choice it appears that once you get a licence you cant move it which seem a bit harsh " Changing to new system would not be free. You would need to purchase another license" which seem to be different from the advice here http://www.voiceguide.com/vghelp/source/ht...eidentifier.htm Share this post Link to post
SupportTeam Report post Posted 07/17/2008 02:11 AM You can fully evaluate VoiceGuide (and HMP) without purchasing a license. If you are not an IP networking expert you may want to consider using Dialogic hardware cards instead of using HMP. Also, moving machines when using an actual Dialogic card is a lot easier as the VoiceGuide license will work in whatever system that Dialogic card is in. On HMP system we will re-issue the VoiceGuide license in situations where the system needs to be moved due to fault with previous machine or the system is getting upgraded after having been deployed for a longer time already. Note that Dialogic will not re-issue the HMP license. They will make you purchase HMP again. Share this post Link to post
Guest joefromireland Report post Posted 11/12/2008 09:32 PM I have now purchased a 4 line version and am trying to get it to work with the chat line script using a fast Internet connection using SIP to test the system. Can you provide me with a four line sample config script that will run on a regular Internet conection even if it is slow. Also where do you get the information for the local alias from .LocalAlias>dad-server1@127.0.0.1</LocalAlias> this is my effort so far.But I am unclear as to the rest of the four line script. Can anybody help <?xml version="1.0"?> <VoIP_Lines> <VoIP_Registrations> <VoIP_Registration> <Display>blueface</Display> <Protocol>SIP</Protocol> <RegServer>sample.com</RegServer> <RegClient>guest@sample.com</RegClient> <LocalAlias>dad-server1@127.0.0.1</LocalAlias> </VoIP_Registration> </VoIP_Registrations> <VoIP_Authentications> <VoIP_Authentication> <Display>blueface</Display> <Domain>blueface.ie</Domain> <Username>sip:guest@sample.com</Username> <AuthUsername>guest</AuthUsername> <AuthPassword>password</AuthPassword> </VoIP_Authentication> Thanks in advance Joe Share this post Link to post
SupportTeam Report post Posted 11/12/2008 11:58 PM A number of sample SIP line registration configs are provided in the Config.xml file. Please also see: http://www.voiceguide.com/vghelp/source/ht...ip_register.htm Share this post Link to post
Guest joefromireland Report post Posted 11/13/2008 06:21 AM most of the samples in the config file seem to be for systems with dialogic cards my system is sip based and it not clear to me how to modify it to work. Also where do I get the alais info from? to put in to the config file? Can you paste a config file that will open the chat line program and will work without dialogic cards Thanks Share this post Link to post
SupportTeam Report post Posted 11/13/2008 09:17 AM The SIP registrations are not tied to Dialogic cards. VoIP systems do not use Dialogic cards, just HMP drivers. If you are not familiar with VoIP then we'd recommed not using it. Good knowledged of VoIP is required to deploy a VoIP system. Share this post Link to post
Guest joefromireland Report post Posted 11/13/2008 11:24 AM I don't have a good knowledge of voip but I hope to learn can you help with my request? the help files on your site are good but there are some gaps. even with the dialogic cards it not very straightforward so again can you paste a sample config file for a a 4 port system using sip Please. Also can you confirm where the alias information is got from. Thanks Share this post Link to post
SupportTeam Report post Posted 11/13/2008 11:42 AM There are a number of configuration examples here: http://www.voiceguide.com/vghelp/source/ht...ip_register.htm Any string can usually be used for alias. Explaining how VoIP works is really beyond he scope of this forum. We'd recommend reading some introductory books or articles on VoIP/SIP. Share this post Link to post

SupportTeam Report post Posted 12/04/2008 01:18 AM From vgEngine trace we can see that the Config.xml file on your system is invalid: 163934.828 5 ERROR v7.0.3236.32938 (Mon 10/11/2008 18:17:57.11) LoadConfigXml load config file : There are multiple root elements.
