Guest Matthew Report post Posted 09/14/2003 08:19 PM A couple of the discussion threads have pointed me to check whether my windows wave drivers are installed under sound/video/games in my hard ware settings in win2000. The threads say that I need to have "UniModem Half-Duplex Audio Device", however I only see "UniModem Full-Duplex Audio Device" and am wondering if this is more than enough, or whether it just wont work. On another note, I had a half working script a week ago, made some changes to it, then I trialled it again, and I heard nothing. I then tried one of the sample scripts to see if it was a module problem or a settings problem, and again I didn't hear a thing. I am in the process of setting up an interactive system but will need to be assured of stability once I finally have it up and running. What advice would anyone have for the configuration of a win2000 500mhz 128 ram, stand-alone system to run 24/7 with VG and without interruptions etc...?? For a professional system you should use a Dialogic card - not a voice modem. On another note, I had a half working script a week ago, made some changes to it, then I trialled it again, and I heard nothing. Sounds like the modems Wave drivers lost their association with the modem - this happens sometimes if other wave drivers on the system are reconfigured - can you try removing all the wave drives on your system (including any sound card drivers) and then re-installing the wave drivers for your telephony device first. Try calling in after doing this, and if the sound can be heard over the phone you can then try to re-install your sound card drivers. To remove other wave drivers got to Control Panel, double clock on System, select the Device Manager tab and go to Sound/Video/Game Controllers entry - then delete all other wave drivers. You may have to disable the sound card altogether as well to stop Windows from automatically loading it's drivers - to do this just select "Disable" and then select "Uninstall" from the Device Manager.
