Guest newpop1 Report post Posted 11/24/2008 05:35 PM Hello, we have a 23 Line Dialogic-PRI system with VG 7 Ent + dialer. We are putting together a backup server in case the original server crashes, we can do a hot swap of the PRI T1 line to the new server that matches the main server hardware specs. We have an issue with VG due to licensing. Some questions: 1) If the main server goes down, how do we install our VG 7 licenses in the backup server so it goes online? 2) Are we forced to purchase another 23 licenses to just sit there? SupportTeam Report post Posted 11/24/2008 07:07 PM The licenses are tied to the Dialogic card, so the license will work in whatever machine that Dialogic card is transferred to. If you want to setup a true ready-to-use-immediately backup server with another T1 Dialogic card in it then you will need to purchase another license - just like you would need to purchase another server, another Dialogic card, another copy of Windows etc. Share this post Link to post
Guest newpop1 Report post Posted 11/26/2008 06:19 PM We do have a complete set of new hardware. So we are ok if everything fails except the Dialogic card. If the Dialogic card fails and we need to install a new Dialogic card, how do we go about installing it in the new server? Thank You Share this post Link to post
SupportTeam Report post Posted 11/26/2008 09:07 PM Dialogic cards very rarely fail. What is the current approach on your side if the Dialogic card fails? Exchange the card under warranty? Please contact sales@voiceguide.com to discuss with whom you'd be doing the Dialogic warranty exchange and VoiceGuide license changes associated with warranty exchanges. Share this post Link to post
