Hi,

 

I am trying to send emails using gmail smtp server.

 

gmail uses the following parameters:

 

smtp server uses port 465

server requires encypted connection SSL

 

I searched the support forum but could not find anything that directly answer this question.

 

I am using VoiceGuide v7.0.9

We have included SSL email sending in v7.1

Have confirmed that it works sending email via smtp.gmail.com

Using the current script designer to indicate that SSL is required the SMTP server name needs to be prefixed with:

ssl:

like this:

ssl:smtp.gmail.com

and then specify your gmail username and password.

It looks like the port number should be 587, the other one did not work for us.

You will need to uninstall your current version of VG and if using external OutDial DBs then you will need to drop tables in those DBs and let VG re-create them as the table structure is different.
