dreguli Report post Posted 02/10/2010 12:58 AM We wil be using VG for IVR and Predictive Dialing and need to configure for VoIP. Our phone guy says our Nortel CS1000 does not have SIP or H.323 protocols installed. Are these essential? I understand we still need the Dialogic drivers and licenses. If we upgrade to SIP protocol is the VoIP configuration with VG relatively straight forward. Thanks. Share this post Link to post
SupportTeam Report post Posted 02/10/2010 02:55 AM SIP configuration is fairly straightforward, but if your PBX does not have SIP installed and you would need to work on PBX to add this feature then maybe it would be simpler to just connect to the PBX using T1/E1 ISDN trunks? Why is it necessary for you to connect to PBX using SIP? Share this post Link to post

Why is it necessary for you to connect to PBX using SIP? Per VG help file, page 8, "Installing VoiceGuide 7 on systems using VoIP...", in order to connect to PBX by using VoIP; the PBX must be using either SIP or H.323 protocols. I may have miss read it as a requirement. We have decided to make initial configuration with analog lines. Share this post Link to post
SupportTeam Report post Posted 02/10/2010 07:48 PM SIP and H.323 are two different VoIP protocols. If you want to connect using VoIP then either of these two protocols can be used. SIP/H.323 are only used over VOIP connections, and are not used if an analog or T1/E1 connection is made. Share this post Link to post
