Emulator

I know that there is currently no call emulator built into the system but is there any chance of seeing one in one of the new beta builds.

I understand that most of the problems encountered are hardware related however it still is far more convenient for script testing to have an emulator than having to call in each time.

I think an emulator is an essential. calling in to test the script for every single changes is silly. I know it's not recommended to call in for every changes, but I don't want to call in after everything is built and found out it is not working and have to trace back up where it failed. Please help if there's one available now.

I second this. I don't know what feature can cut more from my development and testing time and save us from putting a system out there live with bugs!

But i want to say VG is the best IVR App at the market(as i know).

Only 2 element is important for next version:

1-Emulator.

2-Multiple line fax supporting.

any of you guys have found a way to test the scripts without having to dial in every time?

The only way to properly test the system is to dial into it. A basic emulator will never sound or respond in the same way as the Dialogic card and the telephone connection to it will.

 

Soon you will be able to test by dialing into system using a VoIP softphone software. This will allow testing without any hardware.

Thank you. I agree, dialing is the proper way, but, sometimes, several small changes are needed in the script and it would be helpful to do fast tests.

Didn't Dialogic used to supply an emulator with their software? I'm sure I've seen one in the past, but not recently.

 

It might be worth having a look at previous Dialogic releases which may include an emulator.

Yes, I thought there was one. I came across a link which should download the emulator. I've no idea if it will work with VG but I dont see why not.

 

if you go to www.mediatel.com and select products. If you scroll down to the bottom there is a link to download the emulator.

I installed the emulator, but I'm working with the TAPI version of VoiceGuide and no virtual board is added to the device manager list for further configuration.

 

I think emulator calls need to be done directly to Dialogic DLLs.
