bobjdixon Report post Posted 02/25/2003 10:14 PM I'm using a USR 56K Message Modem and VoiceGuide to evaluate and all seems OK except: If I set Voice Guide to answer after more than three rings, the USR insists on picking up the call and taking messages. Try as I may I cannot get it to leave the call for VoiceGuide. I've no manual for this modem and in all other respects it seems OK so help from anybody with experience would be appreciated. I'd be quiet happy to dump the USR and get another but I'd like to be certain that the replacement will work with VoiceGuide. Exact model numbers of suitable replacements would be useful. I can't find any used dialogics on UK ebay, otherwise I might be tempted. Share this post Link to post
SupportTeam Report post Posted 02/26/2003 12:38 AM It looks like your USR 56K Message Modem's internal answering machine is set to answer after only 3 rings.. this has to be a settable parameter - you should be able to turn off the modem's Internal Answering machine altogether... I would consult USR's web site for help on this or contact their technical support... Finding modems with good sound quality as you have gathered from previous posts is a bit of a hit and miss affair... Share this post Link to post
