Dan Clements Report post Posted 08/27/2005 06:14 AM Can anyone tell me what is happening here? I am trying to trasfer a call, detect if no answer, or busy and then move on to another line. VG dials the ext ok and rings it for 3 to 4 rings about 10 to 13 sec's then it hangs up?? SupportTeam Report post Posted 08/27/2005 06:58 AM What does the ringback sound like when the destination extension is ringing? Have you set the ringback sound definition to match in the ConfigLine.xml file? Can you please record the ringback sound, .zip it up and post here. Share this post Link to post
Dan Clements Report post Posted 08/27/2005 02:02 PM Awesome reply times!!!Over all your tech support is 2nd to none! The attached Zip file is my ConfigLine file, the ringback, and a busy tone from my PBX, KCE FX416. The ring back is quick and only one tone, as VG hangs up right after it is issued. I have downloaded Audacity, but am not sure how to read it all. Maybe a few pointers on how to determine the essentials will help as I am sure I'll have issues with the other tones needed. The Attached ConfigLine file has only been modified to what I could decipher the busy tone to be. The may give you some idea of what I am thinking when I use Audacity. I use the plot spectrum tool to read the Hz of the largest energy peak. I am not sure if this is the way to do so. I also don't know how to determine deviation or a 2nd frequency tone, or how to measure the time off and on. Dan Share this post Link to post

Dan Clements Report post Posted 08/28/2005 05:16 AM Ok I got a better copy of a ringback tone, and saw someother post on how to use Audacity and came up with a 400Hz ring tone with 1 sec on and 2 off. I set my Configline tinback tones to 400 both freq's, dev 50, on time 100 dev 40, off time 200 dev 40. Now I get a call trasfer of 3 rings before the call is hung up. Attached is the new trace log and the better ringback file. ktruk Report post Posted 09/07/2005 09:15 PM Dan, I got the same answer months ago and am still waiting for some sort of answer :-( see: http://voiceguide.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=3051 Reluctantly, I have reverted back to the TAPI (Standard VG) product as I was unable to get a working solution here, which is both frustrating and disappointing. SupportTeam Report post Posted 09/14/2005 06:16 AM This one has posed us a bit of a problem. We have had a few users report persistent problems with "Vg for Dialogic" with false connection reports on outgoing calls and transfers when the destination phone was still ringing or was busy. Most often the ringback and busy tones was just not set right, so the Dialogic card reported that the call must be connected as it has not heard the ringback or busy tone at all. Looking at the sound files and ConfigLine.xml attached earlier in this thread we can see that the busy tone (TID_BUSY1) appears to be set right in ConfigLine.xml, but the Ringback recording does not match the TID_RNGBK1 setting in the ConfigLine.xml You mention that the TAPI version of VG is working OK, which is taken to mean that on outgoing calls when the destination phone is just ringing you do not get 'false connections reported. Please confirm that that's the case. In the latest version of VG for Dialogic (v6.0.2214) we have changed the way that call progress detection is initialized with the Dialogic card - and it does look like this has fixed the problem for another client. Please update to that latest version and then try test calls with ConfigLine.xml file's entry for TID_RNGBK1 set to : <Tone Name="Call Progress Tone TID_RNGBK1"> <Notes>The Double ringback</Notes> <ID>TID_RNGBK1</ID> <Freq1>390</Freq1> <Freq1Dev>50</Freq1Dev> <Freq2>0</Freq2> <Freq2Dev>0</Freq2Dev> <On>80</On> <OnDev>60</OnDev> <Off>200</Off> <OffDev>100</OffDev> <Count>1</Count> </Tone> as well as to the default value: <Tone Name="Call Progress Tone TID_RNGBK1"> <Notes>Ringback 1 Default Setting</Notes> <ID>TID_RNGBK1</ID> <Freq1>438</Freq1> <Freq1Dev>138</Freq1Dev> <Freq2>0</Freq2> <Freq2Dev>0</Freq2Dev> <On>130</On> <OnDev>105</OnDev> <Off>400</Off> <OffDev>200</OffDev> <Count>1</Count> </Tone> Please let us know what outcomes you get on your system and post traces from this latest version if you still have problems. Dan Clements Report post Posted 03/29/2006 08:24 PM After several months off, I am back revisiting this issue. I have now upgraded to V 6.0.3095 Pro 4 Line. I Have NOANSWER, CONNECT, and BUSY PATHS defined. I have set ringback both ways as suggested, This is the event log with Configline.XML useing the 390 Freq1 option. I get same results with it set at default. The call just hangs up (no timeout or fail defined), as if VG in not detecting a no answer. Dan Clements Report post Posted 03/29/2006 08:37 PM Of the three paths, Busy works. Connect hangs up the call, but dosn't take the CONNECT path, and NOASWER is as above. Thanks Dan Share this post Link to post
SupportTeam Report post Posted 03/29/2006 11:20 PM Trace shows that the Monitored transfer timed out awaiting for an answer. The system is looking for a "timeout" path in this situation, and as neither the timeout path or a 'fail' path was not defined then the call is ended. 151449.38 4 path 'timeout' not found 151449.38 4 False path not defined - hangup call (iXferType=12) When posting traces/scripts please .ZIP them up and post them as attachments. Dan Clements Report post Posted 03/29/2006 11:38 PM Will do. I do understand VG is looking for a time out or fail However, I have a NOANSWER path defined. How is a Noanswer recognized or different form a time out? For the meantime I have set fail path so that the script will run. Share this post Link to post
SupportTeam Report post Posted 03/29/2006 11:50 PM NOANSWER is returned by Dialogic after about 60 (or 90?) seconds. On this system a timeout occurs beforehand - the timeout is set in VG .INI file in this case: 151415.84 4 timeout on transfer attempt set by VG.INI [PBX] AnnouncedTransfersMaxWaitTime (30 sec) 151415.84 4 timer set 30 EV_TIMEOUT_ANNOUNCED_TRANSFER_ATTEMPT_TOOK_TOO_LONG Change the timeout in VG.INI to say 120 seconds and you should see the NOANSWER from Dialogic call progress monitor after 60 or 90 seconds.
